The Carbon Landscape is a large-scale Landscape Partnership Scheme covering the former coalfields of Wigan, the Mosslands in Salford and the Mersey Wetland Corridor in Warrington. The Project is led by the Lancashire Wildlife Trust but includes a wide range of partners, including the GM Ecology Unit.
Funding has been secured from the Heritage Lottery Fund to deliver a programme of 22 exciting projects which will help us to restore and enhance the Landscape, raise awareness of its value and access opportunities, and engage local communities in ways to get involved in the protection of our Landscape into the future. The Citizen Science project aims to monitor environmental change across the Carbon Landscape through a programme of species and habitat surveying and monitoring using volunteer (citizen) scientists.
Based with the GM Ecology Unit at Tameside Council you will be part of a wider dynamic team led by the Lancashire Wildlife Trust, ensuring a lasting legacy for generations to come. We are looking for a ‘can do’ attitude and passion for engaging and empowering a wide variety of beneficiaries, partners and stakeholders in this special landscape.
