Topic: Short break in loading new/updated datasets to the Gateway

Due to the launch of the new, more flexible system of data access controls for the NBN Gateway in October 2012 there will be a short break in loading new and updated datasets onto the NBN Gateway. The last upload before the launch of the new system will take place in early September. Please ensure you send any datasets for inclusion in the September upload to [email protected] by the 31st August at the very latest to ensure inclusion.  Data loading will recommence in November following the launch of the new NBN Gateway database structure and data access controls.  One of the planned improvements for the new NBN Gateway is that in future data loading will be carried out without a delay of a month between uploads.

Re: Short break in loading new/updated datasets to the Gateway

The launch of the new NBN Gateway has been postponed from October to December to allow for further testing and development, so there will now be two more rounds of data loading before the new system goes live. We think there are benefits to launching the new system at a quiet time when usage of the Gateway is typically low, but of course we will be on hand to monitor data use and downloads after the launch.  Further information and the new schedule of data loading and launch dates can be found here: … -date.aspx
I know a lot of Local Records Centres have already spent time sorting out 'intermediate' access positions and changing public and enhanced access to their datasets working towards the October deadline, so are already prepared for the changeover.  We really appreciate the time you have spent on this, thank you.
Best wishes
