Topic: Changes to Rec 6 -Your opportunity to have a say

Most LRCs are now using Recorder 6.  If you are not one of them, or not interested in it, please disregard this post.

For those of you who do use it, you will probably be interested to learn that there is a planned release of a new version.  The consortium who JNCC outsource Recorder 6 work to, will shortly be starting work on this, and Sally Rankin, who is part of the consortium, is trying to prioritise a list of changes and fixes.  The good news from an LRC point of view is that Sally would like input from LRCs to help prioritise the changes and fixes.  You can read a more detailed forum post about the process here http://forums.nbn.org.uk/viewtopic.php?id=3069, where you can also find a link to see the list in its current form.

If you would like to submit a comment about Recorder 6 changes and fixes, feel free to get in touch either Sally or I, or post on the NBN forum thread.  Sally has suggested that a good way of collecting thoughts would be to list your top five priorities for improving the program.

This is a great opportunity to have some impact on the development of a program that is fundamental to the running of many LRCs.
