Topic: Import Error
Well, I've at the stumpted stage of things now. Smartgroups appears to be dead in the water & am fed up trying to track down this weird error we're getting. Essentially I'm getting a consistent error when doing any kind of import. I'm using test datasets which work fine in R2K, but no dice with R6.
We've followed everything for making a user group, linking it to the dbs, giving read/write/modify access to all users for the root folder on the server, rebooted a few times & still same error.
Exception occurred in application Recorder 6 at 14/02/2006 11:54:41.
Version : 188.8.131.52
EOleException : ODBC--call failed
Operating System : Windows XP 5.01.2600 Service Pack 2
Physical Memory available : 515,452 KB
I'm still releuctant to do a reinstall as I think it's got more to do with network than R6, but at this stage I'm ready for any constructive comments.
BTW, have got all Scotland's maps working beautifully with all 127 Reserves linked to polygons etc. The key to the bulk loader is you've got to have all the tiles in C:\Program Files\Recorder 6 Workstation\Map Files then close all windows & bulk loader will appear on the map menu. Choose what's relevant & there ye go!
Have also rewritten the network & workstation install guide so it's on 3 pages & all the permissions stuff that's on Page 25 is in the opening paragraph, if anyone's interested.
But back to this import business. I've tried 5 different tests, re: .xml, zipped Access db. Excel, .Csv & all manner of original locations & same error. Am truly stumpted. Is this anything to do with the SP4 business that Brian Miller was experiencing back in January maybe?
Many thanks folks, Rob.
